This is an interesting question. Historians have disagreed on this subject of a long time. However there are several facts that must be taken into consideration when talking about “Sun Tzu”. First, the time periods covered and the methods of warfare described in “The Art of War” span many centuries. Far too many for a single person to have lived. So it is logical that “Sun Tzu” is not a single person but many persons over the centuries and perhaps “Sun Tzu” is a title granted to a high ranking military stratigest after all. This would explain the disparities in tactics and tactical thought.
